Roberto Baggio


A hero and villan of the world cup, Baggio made his world cup debut in the 1990 world cup, scoring arguably the goals of the competition agaisnt Czechoslovakia, he helped the Italians reach the last four. Roberto Baggio’s finest world cup was certainly the one in USA in 1994. During Italy’s second round match against Nigeria, Baggio was breathtaking, scoring two goals and causing the Nigerian defence hassle throughout the match. He was even better in their quarter final game against Spain, scoring another goal against them. He added another 2 goals helping Italy defeated Bulgaria in the semi finals, however despite a great performance against Brazil in the Final, he missed the crucial penalty that lost Italy the world cup, however he was arguably the best footballer of the 1994 World cup, netting in five goals.
