Lothar Mattaus


Lothar Mattaus starred in five world cup finals and in total made over 150 appearance for the national team. Mataus made his debut in the 1982 world cup as Germnay powered their way in to the final. It wa sin the 1986 and 1990 world cup finals where Mattaus was considered as the best player in the West German team. The 1990 world cup saw Mattaus captain his country to world cup glory, scoring goals against Yugoslavia (one of which remains one of the finest ever in a world cup), UAE and Czechoslovakia. Mattaus also played in the 1994 and 1998 world cup finals, making him on eof the most played world cup players.
