Ferenc Puskas

Ferenc Puskas - Hungary

Ferenc Puskas was probably the outstanding player of the “Magical Magyars” (a nickname that was fully deserved); his strong left shot made him a danger from far, and his force meant that there would be no respite during a match. In 84 matches for Hungary Puskas scored no less than 83 goals, usually with his left foot. He stayed a member of this most formidable of Hungarian sides until 1956, when the Soviet invasion begged Puskas, along with many of his colleagues, who were all on tour overseas at the time, not to return. e was desperatly unlucky not win the 1954 world cup as they suffered defeat in final against Germany, many regard him as the grestest footballer of the 1950's era.
