1995 Rugby World Cup

The 1995 Rugby World Cup was the third Rugby World Cup. It was staged by South Africa, and had the distinction of being the debut Rugby World Cup in which every game was held in one area.

Nelson Mandela, wearing a rugby jersey and baseball cap, awarded the William Webb Ellis trophy to South African captain Francois Pienaar to the joy of the viewers at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on 24 June 1995.
